Adolph was first a member of the Gotham Cyclists, then the Acme Wheelmen, and finally the German Bicycle Club, all in New York.

Adolph Juner raced during a time in the United States when bicycle racing was bigger than baseball. It was America's favorite sport, drawing huge crowds, and racing tracks, or velodromes were everywhere.

A favorite of the masses were the 6 day bicycle race marathons which Adolph loved to compete in. They took place in the velodromes and a very popular one was located close by in the Bronx.

But World War II changed everything. Adolph and his 3 brothers went off to war and by the time the war was over, the popularity of cycling had waned.
